Enabling "Freelook" in original Quake and GLQuake
I created this page as I had difficulty in finding this information on the net.
Now that GLQuake is available, I wanted to give Quake another airing.
You will now be able to look up and down and left and right using the mouse, without having to press the mouse modifier key.
You can also add the same command to a personal Quake config file, which must reside in the ID1 subdirectory of the Quake directory.
Simply copy the config.cfg file which is already there, and rename it, say to myconfig.cfg - then, using a text editor such as Notepad, add the line +mlook to the file and save your new file.
Then enable myconfig.cfg by adding +exec myconfig.cfg to the run command that you use to run quake.
In my case, for Windows 95, I have a shortcut on my desktop, so I just edited the properties of the shortcut.
Happy GLQuaking!
