You will have seen from my Freebies section that I am very fond of entering on-line competitions.  These competitions frequently require the correct answers to general knowledge questions.  I use many of the following sources of reference when entering competitions.  I hope that you will find them useful too!

• Google search engine simply the best - fast and relevant, the only search engine I use now
• Search for details about films in the Internet Movie Database - search by title, actors, genre etc
• Search Mr Showbiz to find out about Film stars actors and actresses, models etc - trace your favourite stars
• Look up a famous biography - a superb online biographical site
• The periodic table of elements - search by name or chemical symbol to find out about the elements
• Find out about any plant or flower - superb database of plants and flowers
• Trace details about American States - details of the American States if your geography isn't up to scratch
• Find out which Birthstone is applicable to which month - find out the relevant birthstone for any month
